(Published in The Norman Transcript November 24, 25, 26, 2016, 3t) The University of Oklahoma Physics and Astronomy Building Advertisement for Bids Flintco LLC, hereinafter called the Construction Manager (CM) on behalf of the Board of Regents of the University of Oklahoma, an agency of the State of Oklahoma, hereinafter called the Owner, will receive bids from trade contractors interested in bidding the work scopes listed below for the new Physics and Astronomy Building located on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus. These bids shall include all labor, materials and equipment to perform the scope of work for their respective bid packages. The building will serve as an extension of the existing Nielsen Hall and provide state-of-the-art laboratory spaces, as well as provide additional office and classroom space for the departments. The new building will be located on the former site of Gittinger Hall. The new facility has been developed to a square footage of just under 54,400 Sq. Ft. and has an estimated construction cost of approximately $27 million. The anticipated construction start date has been set for early fall of 2017 with a completion date in the summer of 2018. Notice to ALL Bidders: Please be advised that this project is subject to the Rules under the venue of Oklahoma State Statute Title 61 (Section 580) for the Construction Management Contract delivery method (see also House Bill No. 2889 and Senate Bill No. 1172). Due to the nature of this project, the required fabrication and delivery of critical materials shall be included in the scope summaries. Multiple crews working in all areas of the project may be required and are to be reflected in your bids. Failure to conduct a thorough site inspection to completely familiarize yourself with the scope of work will NOT relieve any Bidder from their responsibility to provide a complete and comprehensive bid proposal. Any apparent omission not specifically shown on the documents or specified that is required (to be furnished and/or installed) to complete the intended scope of work IS REQUIRED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BID and will not constitute a claim for additional or extra work. Successful bidders will be required to submit Flintcos Subcontractor Default Insurance questionnaire. In the case that the subcontractor does not meet the SDI requirements a Payment and Performance bond will be required. All bids are to be sealed and CLEARLY labeled by describing the project and indicating the Contract scope being bid on the envelope. Bids will be received at Flintcos office (2302 S. Prospect, OKC, OK. 73129). Bids received after the bid opening time, or more than ninety-six hours, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, before the time set for the opening of bids, will not be accepted. A Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the bid shall accompany the sealed proposal of each bidder. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the date of bid opening stated above. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding.
