(Published in The Norman Transcript October 24, 31, 2016, 2t) REQUEST FOR PREQUALIFICATION GENERAL CONTRACTOR DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTAL OF INFORMATION IS DUE NOVEMBER 9, 2016, 5:00 PM 1. The University of Oklahoma Board of Regents is soliciting for prequalification information from GENERAL CONTRACTORS desiring to bid on the construction of a ~15,000 square foot Performance and Training Center located on the South side of the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma. Entities must be prequalified in order to submit bids for this project. You must submit three (3) copies of the information requested below along with completed AIA Document A305 to the University of Oklahoma Architecture & Engineering Services located at 201 Stephenson Parkway, Suite 1300A, Norman, OK 73019 no later than 5:00 pm on November 9, 2016. 2. The project is expected to be issued for bid around November 15, 2016 with a bid date around December 8, 2016. Heavy construction is expected to begin in March 2017 (at the end of the basketball season). The construction duration is expected to be approximately 12 months (the completion of the tunnel under the ramp must be complete by October 15, 2017). A more detailed project schedule will be issued to the prequalified bidders with the bid documents. 3. Contractors must meet the following criteria and make statements attesting to such to qualify for prequalification to bid: a. Must use a surety company satisfactory to the Owner, licensed to do business in the State of Oklahoma, holding an A.M. Best Rating of A or better, with an approved single project limit equal to or in excess of $6 million. b. Must have successfully completed at least three (3) comparable athletic projects within the last five years, with each having a total construction value of at least $6 million. c. Must have been in business performing General Construction under the same name for the past five (5) years. d. Must not have any surety finish for default of the Contractor on any contract within the past five (5) years. e. Must not have any contract termination for default of the Contractor on any contract within the past five (5) years. f. Must not have any liquidated damages accessed on any contract by the University of Oklahoma in the past five (5) years. g. Must provide the companys current experience modification rate (EMR) is 1.0 or less. Provide a letter from your insurance carrier or state fund (on their letterhead verifying the EMR data). 4. The University of Oklahoma reserves the right to reject any and all responses and to waive informalities and minor irregularities in any response. Qualification Requirements While it is the intent of the Request for Prequalification and documents required therewith to assist the University of Oklahoma in determining bidder responsibility prior to bid and to aid the University of Oklahoma in selecting the lowest responsible bidder, the fact of prequalification will not preclude the University of Oklahoma from a post-bid consideration and determination of whether a bidder has the quality, fitness, capacity and experience to satisfactorily perform the proposed work, and has demonstrated the requisite trustworthiness. The University of Oklahoma reserves the right to reject any Contractor if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of, such Contractor fails to satisfy the University of Oklahoma that such Contractor is capable of satisfactorily carrying out the obligations of the proposed project and to complete the Work in such a format that is acceptable to University of Oklahoma.
